Flying to Seoul for Korean Salmon PDRN? Price, Online Claims, Methods and How Many Days to Plan
Korean salmon PDRN usually means a salmon DNA (PN) injection like Rejuran in Seoul. How many days to plan, what sets the price, and what to send on WhatsApp.

Thinking of flying to Seoul for Korean salmon PDRN injections, but unsure how many days your skin needs before the flight home?
Read this before you lock in the dates.
By the end you'll know what the term means on a Korean menu, what decides the price, which online claims hold up, and how many days to plan, so you can fit a session around your skin, your leave and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Kim Yoo-ju, Founder & Medical Director of Time Return Clinic.
I'm a certified Rejuran Healer Expert and a Rejuran clinical advisor, and for Rejuran I handle everything from the consultation to the injection, by hand. We're in Yeouido, and Line 9 runs from Gimpo Airport to Yeouido Station. For pain, we use plasma 5-step anesthesia (5A+), where you pick a level from 0+ to 5+.
I wrote this because people often book the flight first and the session last, then discover the clinic is closed on the Sunday they planned around, or that the small bumps are still visible at the gate.
What Korean clinics sell as salmon PDRN is usually a salmon DNA injection; the one I use is Rejuran, a PN product made by PharmaResearch. Plan the session day plus two to three days before you fly, because the bumps usually settle in one to three days.
If you already have travel dates, send them on WhatsApp with the one question on your mind, for example whether a Saturday session leaves enough room before a Monday flight.
What "Korean salmon PDRN" means on a Seoul menu
Salmon DNA comes into skin treatment in two forms. PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is made of shorter DNA fragments and has a long history in wound-healing medicine. PN (polynucleotide) keeps longer chains, which makes it a thicker, more viscous gel. A paper in the journal Pharmaceutics comparing the two draws this same distinction: a shared source, different chain lengths, different behavior in tissue.
Both are purified from fish sperm cells, most often salmon. That's where searches like "salmon sperm facial" come from. What goes into the skin is purified DNA material, with no live cells.
In casual Korean, people say "salmon injection" for both, so the English phrase Korean salmon PDRN can point at either one. Whichever clinic you message, ask which product it is, by name.
Rejuran Healer is PharmaResearch's PN skin booster from salmon DNA. We use four Rejuran products: Healer for texture, elasticity and fine lines; a version with hyaluronic acid for dry skin that also needs hydration; one for the thin skin around the eyes; and one for depressed acne scars. I choose which one, or which combination, after assessing your skin. If you're torn between the first two, Rejuran HB or Rejuran Healer goes into the difference.
In laboratory studies, PN and PDRN are linked to more active fibroblasts, the cells that make collagen. Human evidence is still more limited, which is worth knowing before you plan a trip around it.
Do salmon DNA creams and salmon facials do the same thing?
Not at the same depth. Dermatologists use a rough rule, described by Bos and Meinardi in Experimental Dermatology, that molecules larger than about 500 daltons struggle to cross healthy skin. DNA chains are far bigger than that. A salmon DNA serum or sheet mask can help the surface feel hydrated, but it doesn't place PN in the dermis.
The collagen-making fibroblasts sit mostly in the dermis, within about 0.5 to 2 mm of the surface depending on the area. Rejuran is the same genuine product at every clinic. What changes the result is how accurately it reaches that thin layer, so I inject by hand and adjust depth, pressure and angle point by point. Why hand injection suits thin skin covers that in more detail.
Doctor's note
Thin skin is where depth matters most. Under the eyes, or on cheeks that repeated lasers have left sensitive, a fraction of a millimeter decides whether the product sits in the dermis or slips below it. That's why I look at your skin before I name a product or a number of sessions.
How many days in Seoul should you plan?
Start earlier than you think. My Rejuran appointments can have waits of weeks to months, so message before you buy a ticket you can't change.
Then match your days to our week. We're open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday 10:00–16:00, and closed on Sundays and Korean public holidays. Landing on a Saturday evening means your earliest session is Monday.
The last stretch to the clinic is short. From Yeouido Station Exit 4 it's about 4 minutes on foot. From Incheon, limousine bus 6007 stops at Eugene Investment & Securities, about 5 minutes away, and the limousine stop back to Incheon is right in front of the clinic.
After the session, the clock that matters is your skin's:
| When | What your skin does | What to plan |
|---|---|---|
| Session day | Small raised bumps at each injection point | Keep the evening quiet |
| After 24 hours | Bumps still settling | Light makeup is fine |
| About 1 week | Skin still recovering from many small punctures | No sauna, steam room, hot bath or hard exercise |
| 1–2 weeks | Same | No alcohol or smoking |
So a sensible minimum is the session day plus two to three days before you fly. If a jjimjilbang (Korean spa) visit is on your list, go before the session.
Moisturize, keep sunscreen in your bag, and skip the in-flight wine, since alcohol is on the avoid list for 1–2 weeks anyway.
An example: five days and thin, reactive cheeks
Say your cheeks have turned thin and reactive after several laser sessions at home, most products sting, and you land at Gimpo on a Thursday morning with a Monday evening flight. I'd look at a Thursday afternoon or Friday session rather than Saturday. That gives the bumps the whole weekend to settle before you board.
For skin like that, I'd check thickness, texture and sensitivity before deciding anything, then set depth and amount to match. Dryness might point toward the hyaluronic acid version; fine lines under the eyes toward the eye product. Because shallow injections sting more, we'd also talk about a higher numbing level.
Many PN plans involve more than one session. On a five-day trip you'll usually fit one, so ask how the next one could be spaced and whether that means a second trip to Seoul. I set the number and spacing only after the exam.
If your skin sounds like this example, take one photo of the area in daylight, without makeup, and send it on WhatsApp with your question about whether one session fits your window.
What decides the price of a salmon DNA injection?
We tailor every plan after a skin assessment, so fees are confirmed by message. These are the things that move the figure for you:
- Which product. Healer, the hyaluronic acid version, the eye product or the scar product, alone or combined.
- Area and amount. Full face, under the eyes only, or adding the neck, and how much your skin needs at the depth I set.
- Number of sessions. Set after I've seen your skin; the total moves with how many you need.
- What else you add. Some people pair Rejuran with lifting such as Ulthera or Thermage in the same plan.
Genuine product at the exact dose is a standing rule here. Ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case, with a photo of the area. For a longer walk through the factors, see what decides the Rejuran fee.
Is what people say online about salmon DNA injections true?
Four claims come up again and again in forum threads.
"It's the same as the salmon serum." Not true, for the reason above: the molecule is too large to get through the skin from the outside.
"It hurts more than other boosters." Partly true. PN is a thick liquid pushed into dense dermis, and shallower injections hurt more. Numbing cream alone may not reach that layer, which is why 5A+ goes up to level 5+; level 0+ equals standard numbing cream. How much you feel still differs from person to person.
"You'll see the result the next morning." Mostly not. The next-morning look is largely the bumps and a little swelling. Changes in texture build gradually, and no one should promise you a date.
"It doesn't matter where you go, the product is the same." Half true. The product is genuine everywhere; what changes is placement, depth and how evenly the points are spaced.
Risks and side effects to know
Common and temporary: small bumps for about 1–3 days, mild redness for 1–2 days, some stinging, and occasional pinpoint bruising or slight swelling. Bleeding, infection and inflammation are possible complications of any injection. Results vary by individual.
As general medicine, it's usually wiser to wait or skip if you:
- have a known allergy to salmon, fish or fish-derived ingredients
- have an active infection, acne flare or inflammation in the area
- had a laser or chemical resurfacing on the same area very recently
- are pregnant or breastfeeding
- take isotretinoin, or blood thinners that make bruising likely
If your skin is inflamed the week you land, I'd move the session to a later trip, because inflamed skin makes depth harder to judge. Whether you're a fit at all is something I decide when I see your skin in person.
If something feels wrong once you're home, remember that bumps and redness in the first days are expected. Swelling that grows after day three, heat, increasing pain, pus or fever are not. The US CDC's medical tourism guidance is to plan follow-up care before you travel and keep copies of your records, so write down the product and the areas treated before you leave Seoul.
Before you book the flight
Send your arrival and return dates on WhatsApp together with one daylight photo of the area, and ask which Rejuran product you'd likely be looking at. One photo is enough to start, and you can ask before booking anything; send your concern and dates, and we reply with available times. When you arrive, I examine your skin face to face and recommend the product, amount and numbing level that fit you.
