Rejuran in Korea: Visitor Guide
Dr Korea PDRN: how many nights to leave before your flight home
Dr Korea PDRN recovery for a short Seoul trip: bumps usually settle in 1–3 days, makeup from 24 hours, no sauna for about a week. Send your dates on WhatsApp.

A Friday-to-Monday trip to Seoul leaves enough room for the visible part of a Dr Korea PDRN session to settle for many people: the small injection bumps usually go down in about one to three days, mild redness in about one to two, and light makeup is fine after 24 hours. The worry behind the trip is usually Monday morning. You teach, or you sit in meetings, and you'd rather not walk in with a grid of little bumps across both cheeks.
For Rejuran, the salmon-DNA booster in this family that I inject, I handle everything myself, from the consultation to the injection, which I do by hand. On a short trip that matters, because the person who reads your skin is also the person who decides how many points go in and how far apart, and those points are what you see in the mirror for the next few days.
If your dates are already fixed, send them on WhatsApp with one line about what you want to change in your skin, and we reply with the times that are open. For Rejuran, waits here can run from weeks to months, so knowing your slot before you buy a ticket lets you build the trip around the appointment.
What does a doctor in Korea inject when you ask for PDRN?
Usually one of two related things, and they're easy to mix up. PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) and PN (polynucleotide) are both purified from fish DNA, most often salmon.
Laboratory studies link both to more active fibroblasts, the cells that make collagen. Evidence in people is still more limited, and I'd rather you hear that from me than discover it later.
Rejuran Healer, made by PharmaResearch, is a PN product. We use four Rejuran products from PharmaResearch, and I choose one, or a combination, after I've looked at your skin.
Everything about recovery in this post is about Rejuran, because that is what I inject. If a clinic offers you a PDRN injection under another name, ask about that product's own aftercare.
Is a Korean pharmacy PDRN serum the same thing?
No, and it needs no recovery plan at all. Serums and creams labelled PDRN sit on the surface of your skin. In a 2000 paper in Experimental Dermatology, Bos and Meinardi set out what's now called the 500 Dalton rule: compounds much heavier than about 500 Dalton pass through intact skin poorly. DNA fragments are many times heavier than that.
A serum can still work as a moisturizer you enjoy using, and plenty of visitors take one home. What it can't do is place PN in the dermis, the layer about 0.5 to 2 mm below the surface where the collagen-making cells mostly sit. That's the job an injection does, and the bumps you're planning your trip around are the trace it leaves.
Your Seoul weekend, day by day
Say you land at Gimpo on Friday afternoon. Line 9 runs from the airport to Yeouido Station, and from Exit 4 the clinic is about four minutes on foot. From Incheon, limousine bus 6007 stops at Eugene Investment & Securities, behind the Conrad Hotel, about five minutes' walk away.
| When | What you'll likely see | What to plan around |
|---|---|---|
| Session day | Small raised bumps at each point, some redness | Wash gently with lukewarm water; no makeup yet |
| From 24 hours | Bumps flattening for many people | Light makeup, moisturizer and sunscreen |
| Days 1–3 | Bumps usually settled; redness often gone by day 2 | No scrubs or exfoliating acids; don't rub the treated areas |
| 1–2 weeks | Same | No alcohol or smoking |
The last two rows are the ones that change a trip. Friday night barbecue is fine, but the soju waits. The jjimjilbang on your list waits about a week, and so does a hard hike up one of Seoul's mountains. A slow walk along the Han River, a short stroll from Yeouido, is a better fit for Saturday.
On Saturday we're open from 10:00 to 16:00. On Sunday and public holidays the clinic is closed. That detail matters more than it looks: a session on your last afternoon means the days when you'd most likely have a question are days when the door is shut.
How many nights should you leave before the flight home?
I don't give one number to everyone, because the bumps depend on how many points your skin needs and where they go. What I can give you is the pattern from our aftercare guidance: bumps in about one to three days, redness in about one to two, light makeup from 24 hours. Counting from that, a session on your first full day and a flight two or three days later gives the bumps most of their usual window while you're still in Seoul.
Small bumps on their own are usually a cosmetic matter, not a reason to change a flight. Cabin air is dry, so keep moisturizer in your carry-on and try not to lean your cheek on the window or touch the treated areas. On departure day, the limousine stop for buses back to Incheon Airport is right in front of the clinic.
If more than one session makes sense for your skin, I set the number and spacing after examining your skin's thickness and your goals, and you leave with a suggestion for the next one. If you live elsewhere in Asia, that may mean a second trip, which is worth knowing before you plan this one as a one-off.
Doctor's note
On a three-day trip, put the injection at the start, not on the last afternoon. I'd rather plan around your Monday than around a free hour on your final day.
When you write, add your return flight time and the one question that decides the trip for you, for example whether a Saturday session leaves enough room before your Monday.
Risks and side effects to know
The common reactions are temporary: raised bumps at the injection points, redness, mild swelling and some stinging. Any injection can also bruise, bleed, or become infected or inflamed. Shallow injections hurt more, which is why we use plasma 5-step anesthesia (5A+): you pick a level from 0+ to 5+, and 0+ equals standard numbing cream. Pain tolerance varies.
As general medical caution, it's usually wiser to wait for a later trip if any of these apply:
- an acne flare, cold sore or skin infection in the area you want treated
- a laser or resurfacing treatment on the same area in recent weeks
- isotretinoin now or in the recent past
- pregnancy or breastfeeding
- an allergy to fish or salmon-derived ingredients
Tell me about any of these, and about medicines you take, before the session. Whether Rejuran suits your skin on this trip is decided when I see your skin in person.
Once you're home, the signs that need a doctor are redness that spreads, an area that turns hot or more painful, swelling that keeps growing after the first few days, or a fever. See a doctor where you live promptly and bring the product name. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises people treated abroad to keep copies of their medical records and to arrange follow-up care at home before they travel. Results vary by individual.
Why does it matter who holds the needle?
The dermis, where Rejuran is meant to work, sits about 0.5 to 2 mm below the surface and changes thickness across one face. Shallower injections hurt more, so when pain isn't controlled, product tends to go deeper than the dermis, where it can do less. Rejuran is the same genuine product wherever it's sold; what changes is how accurately it reaches that thin layer.
PharmaResearch certified me as a Rejuran Healer Expert and selected Time Return Clinic as a Rejuran SVIP clinic. Genuine product at the exact dose is a standing rule here.
Doctor's note
I sit down with you first, look at your skin, and only then decide where and how much to inject. Thin skin under the eyes and thicker skin on the cheeks don't take the same depth, and for someone flying out in two days, fewer well-placed points can matter more than covering every area at once.
If you're still deciding what to treat on this trip, it helps to read about which areas to ask about, from full face to neck or lips before you message. If you've been studying clinic photos, how to read Rejuran photos explains what they can and can't show.
One more thing you can send on WhatsApp before you book anything: a photo of your face in daylight, without makeup, and a note of the one area that bothers you most. It's easier to ask a precise question about your own cheeks than about skin in general.
