Analysis First, Plan Second: How korea skin care Works Inside a Seoul Clinic
In-clinic korea skin care starts with a skin analysis, then a doctor-set plan in a private room. See what happens, who it suits and what to send on WhatsApp.

If you type korea skin care into a search bar while planning a Seoul trip, the clinic version comes down to two steps: a skin analysis first, then a plan the doctor sets from the results, carried out in a private one-person room with a dedicated care therapist. Time Return Clinic in Yeouido is a Rejuran SVIP clinic selected by PharmaResearch, so that plan can stay as gentle care or add a skin booster the doctor injects by hand.
The worry most visitors bring is the flight home: will my face still look red or bumpy at the gate, and how many days of a short trip does this take? The quickest way to match a plan to your days is to send two things on WhatsApp: your main skin concern in one line, and your travel dates. The clinic replies with available times and what to prepare before you come.
What does skin care in Korea involve at a clinic?
Skin care in Korea at a clinic is a medical service, not a product haul: an analysis, a doctor's plan, then care or treatment in a private room. Shopping for serums and visiting a clinic answer different questions, and plenty of travelers do both on one trip.
Part of the reason is size. A cream works with what can pass the surface. A clinic can place material below it, in the dermis, and that is exactly where you want a doctor deciding how deep and how much.
Station one: the skin analysis
The skin analysis comes before any plan, and the doctor reads three things in it: thickness, texture and sensitivity. Those three decide whether your plan stays in the care room or includes an injection, and if it does, at what depth and in what amount.
Thickness matters most for injections. The dermis, the layer a skin booster targets, is only about 0.5–2 mm thick, and it isn't uniform: around the eyes and nose it is thin and easily irritated. In general terms, thin and reactive skin calls for shallower, more careful placement, while textured skin with old acne marks raises different questions about depth and spacing. Thin under-eye skin gets its own discussion in what Rejuran can and cannot do under the eyes.
Station two: the plan the doctor sets
The person who examines your skin face to face and explains the plan is the director. What you tell the clinic in advance shapes that conversation, so it helps to arrive with the answers below ready.
| What you bring | Why it changes the plan |
|---|---|
| Your flight date | Bumps and redness after a booster usually need 1–3 days to settle |
| Your main concern | Dryness, fine lines, acne marks and dull tone can lead to different routes |
| Products you use now | Harsh exfoliating and brand-new products are paused for 1–3 days after a booster |
| An event coming up | A session the day before photos leaves no room for bumps to settle |
If the plan includes a booster, you also leave with aftercare instructions and a suggestion for when a next session would make sense. How long one session tends to hold up is covered in how long Rejuran lasts.
What happens in the private care room?
Care sessions take place in a private one-person room with a dedicated care therapist, following the plan the doctor set from your analysis. The exact steps come from that analysis, so ask about them at the consultation instead of picking from a list online.
The room matters more than it sounds. If your past facials were in shared spaces, being alone with one therapist makes it easier to say what stings, what feels dry, or what you'd rather skip. The service is described on the 1:1 medical skincare page.
Risks and side effects to know
Men have a separate option: a male-only VIP room, where men's skin care plans cover acne, scars and skin concerns built around men's skin.
When does a skin booster join the plan?
A skin booster joins the plan when the analysis points to problems that sit in the dermis: thin or dry skin, fine lines, uneven texture or acne marks. Rejuran, the booster this clinic centers on, contains polynucleotide (PN) from salmon DNA and is made by PharmaResearch.
The doctor injects it by hand, point by point, changing depth, pressure and angle for each area; the reasoning is laid out in why hand injection suits thin skin. Before the injections, Plasma 5-step anesthesia (5A+) numbs the skin, and you choose a level from 0+ to 5+. Genuine product, exact dose is a standing rule.
There are several Rejuran products, and the names on a menu can be confusing; Rejuran HB or Rejuran Healer explains which one to ask about. For acne marks, what a skin booster can do for scars sets expectations before you book.
On the evidence side, a systematic analysis of polynucleotide injections in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology reported generally favorable results for skin quality, with side effects that were mostly mild and short-lived, while noting that the included studies differ in design and size.
Doctor's note
I inject Rejuran by hand because the layer I'm aiming for is only about 0.5–2 mm thick and changes from cheek to under-eye. Before I set depth and amount, I check thickness, texture and sensitivity, and that check tells me more than the name on the vial.
Will my skin be red on the flight home?
Usually not, if the booster session sits early in your stay. After Rejuran, small raised bumps at the injection points usually settle in about 1–3 days, mild redness in about 1–2 days, and slight soreness within hours to a day.
That is the clinic's own description of common, short-lived reactions, and individual differences apply. Most daily activities are possible right after. For the first 1–3 days, skip the sauna, steam rooms, hard exercise, harsh exfoliation and new skincare products. Keep using moisturizer and sunscreen, wash gently with lukewarm water on the day, and wait 24 hours for light makeup.
One travel-specific trap: the products you just bought in Seoul count as new-product skincare. Let them stay in the suitcase until the 1–3 day window has passed.
Less common problems can follow any injection, including bleeding, infection and inflammation, and satisfaction differs between people. Results vary from person to person. Whether an injection suits you at all is decided at the in-person consultation, which is why the analysis comes first.
For trip planning, the arithmetic is short: on a four-night stay, a session on your first or second day usually leaves room for the bumps to settle before you board.
If your return flight is already booked, put its date in the first line of your WhatsApp message, next to your skin concern. The clinic replies with available times, so you can see whether a session lands early enough in your stay.
Who clinic skin care in Korea suits, and who should wait
In-clinic korea skin care suits travelers with one specific concern they want read in person and a few weekdays to spare. It suits people less when the trip is a single weekend, when a big event falls the next morning, or when the skin in the area is inflamed or infected right now.
- Suits: dry, thin or lined skin you've tried to fix with products alone; acne marks; men who want a male-only room.
- Wait: a trip that covers only Saturday night to Sunday, since the clinic is closed on Sundays and public holidays; a wedding or photo shoot the following morning; an active rash or infection in the area, where doctors generally postpone injections.
- Longer conversation: men's hair loss care, which is built around early treatment and can include prescribed medication after the doctor assesses your pattern.
Getting to Yeouido on a short trip
The clinic sits at 71 Yeouinaru-ro, Suites 101 (1F) and 305 (3F), in Yeouido, about 4 minutes on foot from Exit 4 of Yeouido Station on Lines 5 and 9. Line 9 runs from Gimpo Airport to Yeouido Station, and there is a Korea Exchange bus stop in front.
Hours are Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday 10:00–16:00, closed on Sundays and public holidays. A weekday evening slot can work after a day of sightseeing. Saturday closes earlier, so a Saturday plan needs a morning or early-afternoon time.
If you're landing at Gimpo on a weekday, mention it when you write.
