Rejuran PDRN Korea: Are They the Same Thing? Results, Cost, Forum Claims and Risks

Rejuran PDRN Korea: worried you'll fly to Seoul expecting one injection, get another, or have something your skin should have skipped?
Give this ten minutes before you choose dates.
You'll know what results the research supports, what decides the cost, which forum claims hold up and who should wait, so you can judge whether this fits your skin and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Kim Yoo-ju, Founder & Medical Director, Time Return Clinic.
I'm a certified Rejuran Healer Expert and a Rejuran clinical advisor, and PharmaResearch selected us as a Rejuran SVIP clinic. For Rejuran I handle everything from consultation to injection, by hand, using genuine product at the exact dose.
I wrote this because PN and PDRN get treated as one ingredient, and people then compare menus without knowing what the syringe holds.
Rejuran is a PN (polynucleotide) injectable, and PDRN is a related ingredient with shorter DNA chains. Evidence for both is still limited, and some people should wait or skip it.
If a menu or quote has confused you, send a photo of it on WhatsApp with a daylight photo of the area that bothers you, and ask which product is being offered.
Is Rejuran PN or PDRN?
Rejuran Healer is PharmaResearch's PN skin booster, made from salmon DNA. The words “Rejuran PDRN Korea” join a brand to a different ingredient class, which is why the search results read as if they were one thing.
The two are close relatives. A comparison paper in Pharmaceutics sets out the main differences:
| PN | PDRN | |
|---|---|---|
| DNA chains | Longer | Shorter |
| Texture | Thicker, more viscous | Thinner, less viscous |
| Main proposed action | Structural support in the tissue | Signalling through the A2A adenosine receptor |
| Common uses | Skin booster, filler | Wound healing, regeneration |
That table looks tidier than the science. The same paper says there is no standard molecular-weight cutoff between the two, and that many studies use the terms interchangeably. So when a forum post or a study says “PDRN”, check which product was actually injected.
At our clinic I use four PharmaResearch Rejuran products: Healer, one combined with hyaluronic acid, one for the eye area and one for depressed acne scars. I choose after assessing your skin, and this guide to how Rejuran HB and Healer differ goes further if your skin is dry. If you want a particular PDRN product, ask about it by name before you travel, because it isn't what I describe here.
A serum is a separate question. Rejuran PDRN Korea searches also bring up skincare, and the classic 500 Dalton rule describes how compounds much above that size struggle to cross healthy skin. DNA fragments are far larger, so I wouldn't expect a cream to do what an injection placed in the dermis is meant to do.
Results: what the research supports, and where it stops
The evidence is encouraging and thin. A systematic review of polynucleotides found 9 studies with 219 patients, reported promising outcomes for wrinkles, and rated the studies low to moderate in quality. The authors ask for more rigorous trials.
Laboratory work links PN and PDRN to more active fibroblasts, the cells that make collagen. Human evidence is more limited. Those fibroblasts sit mainly within about 0.5 to 2 mm of the surface, and my position is that the difference between clinics lies in how accurately the product reaches that thin dermis. The vial is the same genuine product.
Rejuran is a skin-quality treatment. I'd consider it for dry, thin skin, fine lines and uneven texture. It won't reposition a jawline that has dropped, and that's why we plan anti-aging in a sequence: skin quality, then lift, then tone. Results vary by individual, and this guide on how to read result photos can help you judge what you see online.
Who should wait or skip Rejuran?
Skip or delay it if your skin is inflamed, or if you may react to a salmon-derived ingredient. The list below is general medical caution, and the comparison paper I cited doesn't cover these groups, so raise any of them before booking.
Risks and side effects to know
The common reactions are short-lived. Small raised bumps at the injection points usually settle in about 1 to 3 days, and mild redness in about 1 to 2 days. Swelling and some stinging can also appear. Any injection can cause bleeding, infection or inflammation. The systematic review found no severe adverse events, but with so few studies that can't rule out rare ones.
I'd generally have you wait or rethink it with any of these:
- An infection, active acne flare or inflammation in the treatment area
- A laser or harsh exfoliating treatment that your skin hasn't recovered from
- Isotretinoin now or recently
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- An allergy to fish or salmon-derived ingredients, or a past reaction to a similar injection
If you react after flying home, get seen locally. Spreading redness, heat, pus, worsening pain or fever needs a doctor promptly. The CDC's medical tourism advice is to confirm you can get follow-up care at home before you leave and to take copies of your records, so ask for the product name and treatment date in writing while you're here. Whether you're suitable is settled when I examine your skin in person.
Before you plan around a session, send us the date of your last laser or other skin treatment, along with any allergy you know of, and ask whether either one changes your timing.
Say you've had a laser three weeks before your flight
Say you're in your mid-thirties with dry, thin cheeks and fine lines under your eyes, you have five days in Seoul, and you had a laser at home three weeks ago. Your skin still stings when you put on moisturizer.
Rejuran means many small injections into that same skin. I'd want the stinging gone first, and moving a trip costs less than treating irritated skin. If your skin has settled by then, I'd look at thickness around the eyes and decide whether the eye-area product belongs in the plan at all.
Change one detail: your main complaint is a heavier jawline. Then I'd tell you Rejuran alone won't answer it, and we'd talk about lifting.
Doctor's note
I sit down with you first and check skin thickness, texture and sensitivity, then set the depth and amount. Pain matters more than people expect, because shallow injections hurt more, and when pain can't be controlled the product often ends up deeper than the dermis, where it can do less. So I treat numbing as part of placing the product correctly, with our plasma 5-step anesthesia (5A+), and you choose a level from 0+ to 5+. Level 0+ equals standard numbing cream, and none of the levels makes it pain-proof.
What decides the cost of Rejuran in Korea?
We tailor every plan after a skin assessment, so fees are confirmed by message. Your own figure comes down to these factors:
- Product: which of the four Rejuran products you need, or whether you need a combination
- Area and amount: the size of the area treated and the dose it takes
- Sessions: I set the number and spacing after examining your skin, with no fixed number promised beforehand
- Your trip: days in Seoul and any return visit sit outside the clinic fee but belong on your spreadsheet
For a closer look at the line items, read what decides the Rejuran fee. Then ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case, with a photo, and ask whether the numbing level changes the figure.
Forum claims about Rejuran and PDRN: what holds up
Threads about Rejuran PDRN Korea trips tend to repeat the same few claims.
“It's made from salmon DNA.” True. Rejuran's PN comes from salmon DNA, which is why a fish allergy deserves a mention.
“Rejuran and PDRN are the same.” Partly true. They're related, but chain length and texture differ, and the two labels get blurred even in published studies.
“Every clinic uses the same stuff, so it doesn't matter where you go.” Half true. Genuine product is the same product, while depth and even placement depend on the hands injecting it.
“Bigger bumps mean it worked better.” False. A bump marks where product sits for a short time. It tells you nothing about the result.
“It really hurts.” Often true without good numbing, since it's many injections into a shallow, dense layer. How much you feel changes with the numbing used, and pain tolerance differs from person to person.
How should you plan your days in Seoul?
Start with availability. For Rejuran I do the consultation and the injection myself, and waits can run from weeks to months, so message with your skin concern and travel dates, then confirm your time before you buy a ticket. We're open Monday to Friday 10:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 10:00 to 16:00, and closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Put the session early in your stay. With bumps usually settling in 1 to 3 days, a session on your last morning means flying home with them visible. After treatment, avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot baths and hard exercise for about a week, and alcohol and smoking for 1 to 2 weeks. Light makeup is fine after 24 hours, so leave the bathhouse for another trip.
The clinic is about 4 minutes on foot from Yeouido Station Exit 4 (Lines 5 and 9), and Line 9 runs directly from Gimpo Airport. From Incheon, limousine bus 6007 stops about 5 minutes away, and the stop back to the airport is in front of the building. Consultation and treatment happen in private rooms, with English, Japanese and Chinese assistance. This guide to booking a Seoul visit from abroad covers the rest of the planning.
Your first message can be one photo
You can ask before booking anything. Send one daylight photo of your skin on WhatsApp with your travel dates and the question that brought you here, such as “Is Rejuran right for my skin, or should I look at something else?” When you come, I'll examine your skin face to face and recommend what fits it.
